Global Health Equity Week, taking place this year Oct. 25-29, 2021, is a global week of action dedicated to elevating conversations about access to care and engaging in actionable steps displaying the power of health information and technology to improve health equity and support the elimination of health disparities.
Help HIMSS lead the charge for health equity. Take action by joining our virtual marches.
Join our Virtual March on the States.
Urge your governor to take action on developing a digital health-focused Momnibus package in your state. The United States has the worst maternal mortality rate in the developed world. The use of digital health tools, including improvements in maternal health reporting and data collection, expanded telehealth and remote patient monitoring for pregnant and postpartum women, especially those living in underserved or rural communities, can help maximize positive health outcomes of mothers and their children and reduce the maternal mortality crisis.
Join our Virtual March on Congress.
Participate in our virtual march to close the digital divide and advance health equity. Urge your member of Congress to enact critical policy changes that will help realize the value of health information and technology to improve access to care for all communities. The digital divide has prevented many Americans from realizing the full benefits of a modern, 21st century health information and technology infrastructure.
By taking these steps, you can contribute to removing barriers that have resulted in increased health disparities throughout the United States.
