Join us for Part 1 of 4 in our Healthcare Advocacy Series!  This first session focuses on an informative discussion about the fundamentals of advocacy.  Learn how advocay is defined, the purpose and objective of effective advocacy and ethical considerations. Participants will gain insights into the role of advocacy in shaping healthcare policy and be inspired to engage in advocacy work!

  • Illustrate the purpose of advocacy and its role in promoting healthcare social change.
  • Illustrate the significance of addressing healthcare societal issues to improve the lives of in our communities.
  • Discuss motivations for engaging in advocacy, including values, beliefs, and experiences.
  • Illustrate the key guiding principles behind effective advocacy including honesty, transparency, and respect for others.

Marjorie Rosen is an international speaker for the Health Information industry. She has received several awards for her innovations, growth, and process improvement implementations. She consults with universities and other facilities in their process and designs efficiency models for engagement and retention. She is the Chief Learning Officer for Ed- Rez, the Chapter Advocacy Task Force Vice Chair, the VP of Education & Advocacy for AZ HIMSS, the Dean/Program Director for Bryan University over the Healthcare Programs, and the Advocacy Director for the AZ AHIMA Component Association. Marjorie also serves on the Professional Ethics Committee for AHIMA. She is the 2017 recipient of Bryan University’s “Distinguished Faculty Award” and is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Education in Learning and Leadership with an emphasis in Healthcare Leadership.
